This morning at kindergarten, one little boy had been playing rowdily or something, and he was told to go put his head down at a table. No playing or anything until he was told. He started rummaging in a container of toy dinosaurs, and I went over and told him to stop. "Put it all the way up there." he said, pointing to the top of the shelf.
"Why?"
"So I can't reach it."
"Nuh-uh. Just stop. You're in charge of your own behavior, not me."
"Can I go do a lab?"
"Not until Ms. N says so."
"I have Chuck E. Cheese tokens. If you let me go do a lab, I'll give you one." I managed somehow not to laugh, and almost let him off for creative thinking, but didn't.
